15 Quotes by Smith Wigglesworth

Smith Wigglesworth, a hero…. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1990 at age 14. By the time I was 16, I was gung-ho, crazy in love with Jesus. All I wanted to do was to serve Him for the rest of my life. One of my greatest influences was a man named Smith Wigglesworth. (And no, he was not a character from Narnia.)

Smith (1859-1947) was a man who knew God as a friend. He carried His presence so powerfully that sinners were convicted into repentance without him saying a word. He healed the sick and raised the dead. He lived on a different level than most Christians. Not that we all can’t live there; it’s just that many don’t pay the price to do so.

Smith was the type of man who, when he spoke, all stopped to listen. His words were inspired by God and full of authority…the kind that makes you want to experience transformation.

I want to share a few quotes of Smith Wigglesworth that I found on the internet. They reveal the heart behind the anointing.

I hope you will be inspired as I am.

Warning: Smith was a radical man. Read at your own risk!

 Smith Wigglesworth:

“Fear looks; faith jumps. Faith never fails to obtain its object. If I leave you as I found you, I am not God’s channel. I am not here to entertain you, but to get you to the place where you can laugh at the impossible.”

“If it is in the Bible, it is so. It’s not even to be prayed about. It’s to be received and acted upon. Inactivity is a robber which steals blessings. Increase comes by action, by using what we have and know. Your life must be one of going on from faith to faith.”

“How can one come to possess great faith? Now listen, here is the answer to that: First, the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear. Faith must grow by soil, moisture, and exercise.”

“If you are in the same place today as you were yesterday, you are a backslider.”

“If you want to increase in the life of God, then you must settle it in your heart that you will not at any time resist the Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost and fire – the fire burning up everything that would impoverish and destroy you.”

“If the Spirit’s not moving, I’ll move him!”

“Great faith is the product of great fights. Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests. Great triumphs can only come out of great trials.”

“In me is working a power stronger than every other power. The life that is in me is a thousand times bigger than I am outside.”

“The secret of spiritual success is a hunger that persists…It is an awful condition to be satisfied with one’s spiritual attainments…God was and is looking for hungry, thirsty people.”

“It is better to live ready than to get ready!”

“God has privileged us in Christ Jesus to live above the ordinary human plane of life. Those who want to be ordinary and live on a lower plane can do so, but as for me, I will not.”

“The Spirit reveals, unfolds, takes of the things of Christ and shows them to us, and prepares us to be more than a match for Satanic forces.”

“There is nothing impossible with God. All the impossibility is with us when we measure God by the limitations of our unbelief.”

“Wherever the Holy Ghost has right of way, the gifts of the Spirit will be in manifestation; and where these gifts are never in manifestation, I question whether He is present.”

“Jesus saw every touch by God as a miracle.”

Love it. This is another quote from him that I have written inside my bible.
“This book is the words of God. It is supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, inexpressible in value, infinite in scope, regenerative in power, infallible in authority, universal in interest, personal in application, inspired in totality.” Smith Wigglesworth”

Larry, thanks for posting that! I love that quote too. Almost put it on there as well but ran out of room. 🙂 another one I liked was “some people read the Bible in Hebrew, some read it in Greek. I like to read my Bible in the Holy Ghost.” Haha.

Sorry I took so long to reply. We’ve been busy between moving and me starting a new job. Love ya!
